Biography

Born in Suriname, Matt Soemopawiro moved to the Netherlands in 1975. Whilst studying mechanical engineering a light interest in photography developed into a serious passion for capturing moments of any kind. The creativity he found in the process was more appealing to him than anything the field of mechanics had to offer.

A three year study in photography at Amsterdam Academy shaped young Matt into a culture photographer, whose personal touch has excelled over the years. Capturing the right moment at the right time still drives him endlessly. In his own words:
"Unique moments pass you by only once".
